Midland puts “Spotlight” on arts students
Midland University Arts students have only been back at school for about three weeks, but already are looking forward to putting the spotlight on their talents. The students will be showcasing their talents September 16-18, with their “Spotlight Series,” held at the Fremont Opera House. Graphic artist Chris Bristol has spent part of his summer adding a splash of color to the Sinclair Expressway station at Military and Clarmar Avenues. Previously there had been a flag mural at the location that had deteriorated over the last few years. Bristol was commissioned to refurbish the mural by the Fremont Avenue of Flags organization. In addition to the waving flag, there are familiar elements of Nebraska landscapes and agriculture with the additions of a grain elevator and windmill.
